How do I add my child's artwork to my home decor?

We have all been there, you are so proud of your child's artwork and then in a moment of panic, you think to yourself- where am I going to put it? I am running out of space? Of course you can't hang all of their art (they come home with tons each day!)  However you should select their favorite and your favorite ones and frame them (the rest goes into a plastic air tight bin for safe keeping.) Framing your child's artwork can totally work in your home. You just have to be a little creative on how and what other pieces you style it with.

When I entered our client's home, I first noticed that they gathered all of the kid's art work on the fire place mantel and the family room's built ins all had very serious black and brown frames. I immediately decided that I had to switch it out. I turned the living room to more of an adult setting and the family room into a family room. I gathered all of their artwork (they were already framed) and I organized their books by color and started to style them together. This family also had cute and colorful trinkets, so I added that to the décor too. Putting the color books together help give some "blocks" of color for the artwork to play off of.   I also added cute mini suculents and cactus to play off of the playfulness of the artwork.

For another client, we thought their artwork was so amazing that we created a picture gallery around it. We were lucky enough that our clients were into the new 60's mod look into their living room transformation, but the gallery could work in any style home.

So next time your child comes home with another piece of artwork, you can now relax and say to them "I have just the place for it"!

High fives to everyone in the family!
