Does having crystals in the home- really work?

I would not call myself a "hippie" by any sorts (but I have known to rock a seriously good looking boho outfit) however, when I turned a certain milestone age (nope, not gonna reveal the age) I made a journey with some close girlfriends to Sedona, Arizona to the Enchantment Resort. Whch I highly recommend visiting Sedona, as well as staying at this resort. The entire experience I will probably never forget!

While visiting the many crystal shops in downtown Sedona, I found out more about the different personalities of crystals and stones and what they could bring into your life. I bought some on that trip and over the years. Below are the stones I have in my home and office.

Stones I have collected over the years. From Clockwise: Heart Shaped Rose Quartz: Represents unconditional love; opens heart to love. Amethyst tumbled stone (purple/green): Encourages inner strength and relieves stress. Clear Quartz: Helps amplify any energy or intension. Orange Calcite: Enhances creativity.

Even if you don't believe they bring whatever power or energy that some belive, you can't deny they look good in your home as decor. I am not 100% sold if all of the benefits that are claimed to these stones are true- but when I do hold certain ones, just feeling a smooth stone in your hand reminds you to take a moment and pause. Sometimes we need a pretty stone in our life to take the time to just hold it in our hand and just focus on doing that simple action. That in itself can give us a moment of peace and reset.

Let's take a moment not just to focus on how crystals and stones can make you feel, but what they look like. Displaying crystals, geodes and rocks have become a popular home décor trend. Displaying natural objects I think have become huge because it reminds us of nature and being outside. We are constantly being bombarded by technology that including nature in our home environment has become even more of a need and trend. That is why I wanted to include a crystal into a DIY craft and what better time to share this type of DIY video, but when of course for Oscars night!

DIY for a geode crystal candle

This DIY craft was perfect for the night's intention. A beautiful candle like this will help bring luck from the crystal, soothing light from the candle and a release of a relaxing scent.

I first started off by spray painting the wood top of a glass jar candle (I got the candle from Cost plus world market, supply list and links are on the YouTube description) with gold spray paint. I also painted the bottom of the crystal, so it would have a nice connected look to the candle.

I after the spray paint and glue dried, I then hot glued the crystal to the top of the wood lid.

Surprisingly I found quite a few crystal shops in my city of Sherman Oaks, CA (if you are in the are check out: https://www.yelp.com/biz/silver-sky-international-sherman-oaks?osq=crystal+shop

The crystal that I chose had a very good attributes for Oscar night. I took a picture of what the crystal is suppose to bring.

So I am not sure if crystals or stones really do work, I think the answer would fall under the answer category "to each its own". I think whatever makes you and your home feel better really is a good thing.
